“Our approach to resilient interior design is rooted in a deep sensitivity to place and ecology. We thoughtfully incorporate natural elements—such as color, texture, water, organic shapes—and prioritize air quality and natural light to cultivate a connection with the environment, while enhancing overall well-being and quality of life.”

Aloha!

My name is Arlene Salomon, and I’m a Hawaii-based artist and Living Future Accredited interior designer. I hold a BFA in Fine Art from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and an MFA in Interior Architecture & Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. My specialty is applying advanced concepts of sustainability to design projects and I have a passion for historic preservation.

My journey on Maui began as an exhibiting artist, but it evolved as I immersed myself in the island’s natural systems while farming and living in ecologically restorative households. Working as a Certified Arborist, I refined my ability to manage the health and safety of trees and specialized in native Hawaiian plants. For over fifteen years, I designed sustainable landscapes, orchards, and ethnobotanical forests, and contributed to local conservation efforts.

As an interior designer, I create art-centric, biophilic spaces that prioritize people’s needs and sense of place. My work explores the connection between people, art, architecture, and nature, embracing regenerative sensibilities that enable beautiful, harmonious environments across residential, public, and outdoor spaces."
